The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC brings some iterative upgrades over its predecessor, while the other chipset is a gaming package.

The new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC offers new power and performance that improves your on-device experiences. It has the support of mmWave and a sub-6Hz network. As compared to the old chipset, the latest one is 10% faster and offers 30 percent better efficiency. The new chipset is also 10 percent faster in GPU performance. Smartphones powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC chipset offers HDR gaming with 10-bit color depth. The phones with this chipset might feature 4K resolution and support 60Hz. Also, they support a QHD+ resolution with 144Hz refresh rate support. It supports up to 200MP resolution photos and videos up to 180 MP single camera at 30fps. Also, there is support for 8K video recording at 30fps. While recording 8K HDR videos, users can capture 64MP photos also. In connectivity, it has support for WiFi 6E, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, etc. The smartphones that will come with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will launch in Q3 2022. It includes Asus, iQOO, Honor, Motorola, OnePlus, Nubia, Oppo, Redmi, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc.

This chipset is aimed to offer the best gaming experience. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC has a speed of 2.4GHz and has Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Adreno Frame Motion Engine. It doubles the frame rate to upscale content, and also power consumption is the same. Adreno GPU delivers more than 20percent faster graphics rendering. Both the new chipset includes the 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine. It is paired with a next-gen Qualcomm Hexagon Processor and provides up to 30% enhanced AI capabilities. While talking about the camera, it supports 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP and up to 200MP photo capture. Other details are 4K HDR Video Capture and AI-based face detection, auto-focus, and auto-exposure. The smartphones come up with up to QHD+ displays and support up to 144Hz refresh rate. It includes support for Quick Charge 4+ tech and a Trust Management Engine for security. The company hasn’t revealed the devices that will support Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The OEMs are confirmed like Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, and more.
