Last year in November 2021, Yahoo announced that users from China will not be able to use Yahoo’s products and services. However, the company is continuing a small number of services like mailboxes. The services have stopped in China as the legal environment, and challenging business are increasing rapidly. It is not only Yahoo who has discontinued the services; Microsoft Corp pulled the LinkedIn service last month in China.
Yahoo Stop Services in Mainland China From Today
The users are advised to change to other mailboxes. The company has claimed that users can download backup contacts, schedules, and other things before February 28. From March 1, users will not be able to receive or send emails from China. In 1999, Yahoo entered China market, where it offered email, search directory services, and translations of news articles. Since 2005, the e-commerce giant Alibaba has run the company’s operations. In a recent move, Yahoo Mail has cleared that the services will stop in China, and users will no longer be able to use it. Currently, many of Yahoo’s products and services are not available in China. Once upon a time, Yahoo was the world’s first portal search website with operations in 24 countries and regions. But in the late 1990s, it was surpassed by Google. Even if you have installed the app on your phone, you can’t use or sign in to Messenger. It is recommended to delete the app after users save their chat history. PayPal app also shows a notification that if a user has an account with Yahoo mailbox, then they should change the email address. Today is the last day Yahoo Mail will be accessed in China.
